Amended Pastoral Scheme for the Benefice of Towan Blystra

The Church of England has prepared an amended draft Pastoral Scheme for the formation of the Benefice of Towan Blystra which will bring together the churches of St. Michael’s Church, St Columb Minor & Colan, and St Newlyn East.

In summary this amended draft Scheme provides for the union of the benefice of St Michael, Newquay, the benefice of St Columb Minor and Colan and the benefice of St Newlyn East (their constituent parishes to remain distinct) in the diocese of Truro, for the appointment of the Reverend Christopher McQuillen-Wright as the first incumbent of the new benefice and for the future patronage arrangements for the new benefice.

It also deals with the transfer of the sale proceeds of the former parsonage houses of the two benefices of St Columb Minor and Colan; and St Newlyn East to the Truro Diocesan Pastoral Account.

Anyone may make representations for or against all or any part or parts of the amended draft Scheme (please include the reasons for your views) preferably by email or by post to the Church Commissioners at the following address no later than midnight on Monday 20 June 2022:
