A return to Public Worship on Sunday 9th August at 10am

This Sunday Lee, Jane and Margaret will bring you an Agape Zoom ! It starts at 11am – do try to enter the Zoom by 10.50.
Have some food and drink to share virtually.

I have asked the PCC of St Michael’s Church, Newquay to agree that I re-commence Public Worship at St Michael’s,
We have agreed that we will do so on Sunday 9th August 2020 – at 10am Please note the change to the start time.
The 11am Zoom service will continue to be offered.
St Columb Minor Church have a 9am service every Sunday.
The Church of England have issued updated guidance:
We strongly advise that face coverings should be worn by all those attending a place of worship, including ministers, worshippers, staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors, where there may be other people present; remembering that they are mainly intended to protect other people, not the wearer, from coronavirus COVID-19 and that they are not a replacement for physical distancing and regular hand washing. You can see all the guidance on the Church of Englands website –
The service on 9th August will be a Holy Communion – but we are not permitted to sing, we shall listen to hymns instead. The Communion will be in one kind only, the host, the President will receive the wine on everyone’s behalf.
In addition to the advice about face coverings, those attending can sit in their family (bubble) groups, but those who usually come alone and the family groups, will have to sit 2m from everyone else.
We have hand gel sanitisers which we will encourage people to use, both as they arrive, before receiving Communion and after the Communion.
Tea and coffee unfortunately is not going to be offered.
Because of the restrictions we think that a maximum of 30 people will be what we can manage to accommodate.
I am reluctant to ask people to ‘book’, but would certainly welcome expressions of intent to attend, in order that we can gauge your interest.
